EU Regulations

Curtainsider dimensions and load limits

These are the EU standard limits. Verify with your fleet operator for trailer-specific specs.

Interior length

Interior width

Body width 2,550 mm

Standard height

Max payload

GVW 40,000 kg – tare ~16,000 kg

Floor load limit

5,000 kg/m²

The standard EU curtainsider floor is rated at 5,000 kg/m². Heavy cargo on a small footprint can exceed this even when total weight is legal. Use load-spreading boards for dense items.

Axle load limits

Kingpin 12,000 kg
Rear bogie 21,000 kg

Cargo placement determines axle loads. Shifting weight by 500 mm can push one axle over its limit. Validate with a live axle load calculator before departure.

Securing standard

EN 12195

All cargo must be secured per EN 12195. Minimum lashing force: 50% of cargo weight forward, 25% lateral. Curtain fabric is weather protection only — never a securing element.
