Square footprint advantages
The T11 pallet's 1,100 × 1,100 mm square footprint means any orientation is identical — no need to track pallet direction when loading. This simplifies automated handling and stacking, and allows 90° rotation without losing lane efficiency. Four-way entry is standard, compatible with all Japanese forklift and hand-jack equipment.
JPPA pallet pool
The Japan Pallet Pool Association (JPPA) operates Japan's largest rental pallet pool using the T11 standard. JPPA pallets are rented per day, collected by JPPA, repaired, and reissued — similar to CHEP's model. Major retailers and food distributors in Japan mandate JPPA or equivalent certified pallets for automated distribution centre intake.
T11 pallets in export
T11 pallets used in international shipments must meet ISPM 15 (heat treatment to 56 °C core / 30 min). Japan exports comply with JPQ (Japan Phytosanitary Quality) treatment marks. Importers in the EU, US, and Australia require valid IPPC stamps — check with your freight forwarder before shipping on wooden pallets.
